Womens basketball looks to stop Troy and McNair in Saturday showdown

Sports Director As the FIU women’s basketball team enters the thick of their Sun Belt Conference schedule it will try to break a streak of three consecutive seasons without a winning conference record. The Golden Panthers have not had a winning percentage above .500 in conference play since the 2005-2006 season. That year the team went 19-13, 9-5 in the conference. FIU has one road win against a conference opponent this season. After taking its first SBC loss of the season at Denver, the Golden Panthers topped North Texas, 64-55. Spring 2010 peer advisors chosen, announced
By: Mikiala C. Tennie/Staff Writer A loud reception, barbeque food, and enthusiastic applause greeted the selection of new peer advisors for the spring semester on Jan. 4. This semester’s Biscayne Bay Campus peer advisors are Nardo Dorsin, Shannon Douglas, Fabiana Ferrer, Judi Julmisse, Kimberly Lauriston, Demi Marroquin, Ana Perez, Anastacia Strachan, Gabrielle Wheeler and Eric Feldman. Peer advisors help new students and their parents adjust to life at FIU. The advisors participate in and help plan all orientation events throughout the year-long term.
