Shibata named SBC diver of the week

By: Jonathan Ramos/ Sports Director A stellar weekend on the diving board earned Namiko Shibata her further recognition from the conference, being named Sun Belt Female Diver of the Week by league officials on Jan. 14. “I’m happy with it,” said Shibata. “I’m just trying to keep working hard and keep moving forward, especially with conference championships coming up. It’s a good start.” Shibata was rewarded after coming in first place in both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events against Indian River State College, Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Florida Atlantic.
