Fair displays opportunities abroad

The Office of Education Abroad held a study abroad fair to showcase study abroad programs for the summer 2010 semester. Dance marathon kicks off 13th annual event
By: Gabriel Arrarás / Asst. News Director FIU students, faculty and friends will put on their dancing shoes for the 13th annual FIU Dance Marathon. The dance marathon was first implemented in 1997 and has raised more than $600,000 since, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation. Last year, during FIU’s Nintendo-themed dance marathon, students danced for 25 hours straight while entertainment was provided by the Y-100 Street Team, DJ Cato-K and the Miami Heat dancers, among others. President addresses University at forum
By: Melissa Caceres / Staff Writer President Mark Rosenberg hosted the first open forum at FIU on Jan. 26, in which faculty, staff and administration were able to attend and ask questions on anything regarding the University and its progress since the beginning of his tenure in 2009. In an e-mail sent out to all members of the community, Rosenberg invited everyone to the event which took place in the Graham Center Ballrooms. Faculty and students who could not be present were given the opportunity to view the forum live through the Internet, which included those located at the Biscayne Bay Campus and Pines Center. Former cafeteria to be converted to student lounge
The Biscayne Bay Student Government Council is planning to convert the former cafeteria on the second floor of the Wolfe Center into a lounge.
