On this July 4 holiday, we remember one former FIU Panther who helped get the FIU name out to the nation while wearing No. 4.

T.Y. Hilton, now a leading wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts, last suited up for the Panthers in 2011 under then Head Coach Mario Cristobal.

Hilton had a pretty fantastic season in his final year of blue and gold.

He had 19 rush attempts for 124 yards and a touchdown, while also having 72 receptions for 1,038 yards and seven touchdowns. Those seven touchdowns include the two he had against the University of Louisville.

He also had his only game of the season with over 200 yards against the Cardinals with seven receptions for 201 yards.

Overall in the 13 games that Hilton had in his final season with FIU, he averaged 6.5 yards per carry and  14.4 yards per reception. He also returned punts and kicks for which he  averaged 23.2 and 30.4 yards respectively.

Throughout his final season Hilton recorded 54 points for the Panthers.

Hilton is going into his third season with the Colts who took him in the  third round of the 2012 draft at No. 92 overall.

In 2013 he had 99 receptions for 1,410 yards. That includes both the regular season and the postseason. That also includes his seven touchdowns on the year.

Hilton wears the No. 13 as a member of the Colts.
